Tonopah and Goldfield, located on Hwy 95, are among the the most unique and historical towns in Nevada. Do you love the ambiance of a small town? Both cities are original mining towns located north of Las Vegas, about 1/2 way between Las Vegas and Reno, Tonopah about 1/2 hour closer to Reno, while Goldfield is about 1/2 hour closer to Las Vegas. The two cities are about twenty five miles apart.

Tonopah is a quaint little town, at 6034 ft. elevation, with the original charm of silver and gold mines visible all over the local mountains, you can still feel the presence of the days when cowboys and miners prevailed. Though both cities are mining towns, the local culture is dramatically different. Tonopah has more modern buildings, yet maintaining it's historical charm.

Goldfield looks very muck today as it did in its days of antiquity. If you enjoy hiking, exploring, RVing, ATV's, mountain biking, motorcycles, prospecting, metal detecting, camping, casinos, fine dining, fishing, picnicking, horses, photography, or historical places, you will find both Goldfield and Tonopah to your liking.

Are you into astronomy? Tonopah skies are among the darkest in the nation, making it a premier location for stargazing. The well known Area 51 (UFO Conspiracy site) is only 70 miles from Tonopah.
